Ron was a role player on the basketball teams for St. Francis College, Loretto, Pa., from 1953-55, as teammate with the famous Maurice Stokes. Following graduation, Ron worked for Wyeth/Ayerst Pharmaceuticals, retiring after 40 plus years. He belonged to severall civic organizations, including the Penn Cambria School Board, Cambria Co. Transit Authority and the Cresson borough Council.
