Notes for Dr. Geza Theodore Fabinyi
Geza was an opthalmologist. He was active in support of the Hungarian Uprising against the Soviet Union in 1956, setting explosives that blew up a bridge and derailed a weapons supply train. He was later awarded a Congressional Medal of Honor for his role. Geza attended medical school in Innsbruck, Austria, and acquired his M.D. degree in 1963. He relocated to the United States and interned at Westmoreland Hospital in Greensburg, Pa. He then was an ER physician at Pittsburgh hospitals from 1966 to 1970. After his residencies he was a clinical instructor at West Virginia University Medical Center. In 1974, Geza then established his private practice in Altoona, Pa.
