Eddie served during WWII with the Navy Amphibious Landing Force in the Pacific Theater, and was discharged as a Chief Petty Officer in July of 1947. He was involved in golf course construction and was a member of the Golf Course Superintendents Assocition for 47 years. He was also a Scoutmaster. “Eddie told millions of jokes — some of them funny.”
