Notes for George L. Perusse
George was a railroad brakeman in Minneapolis, Minn. By 1910, he was a brakeman living as a single man in Fairbanks, Alaska. An Alaska newspaper account did not reference his Minnesota family but instead identified his new wife Julia, and that he “brought his new bride to town on the train he was conductor and engineer on from Chatanika. They were met by a big crowd that was so varied and persistent he finally had to lead them to the refreshment parlor and start setting them up.” George was chauffeur for Tanana Valley Auto Car and worked for the Tanana Valley Railroad for many years. The 1920 Census placed him as automobile company driver with his third wife Grace in Los Angeles.
Notes for Johanna Rosaline (Spouse 1)
In 1900, Johanna and George were living in Minneapolis, Minn. “Josey” was a seamstress. She and her second husband Eugene Chamberlain lived in Williston, ND and Quindaro, Kan. She last lived in Cleveland, Oh.
