Lived in Deep River, Minn. Charles died in an unlucky construction accident during work on an international pipe project near Warba, Minn. He was oiling a tarring machine when the boom of a crane dropped on an overhead tree limb, causing the broken section to fall and strike Charles. Charles sustained a fractured skull and was taken to Itasca hospital in Grand Rapids, whee he died just after midnight the following day. He was knwon as a friendly and likeable man in Itasca Coutny and had been for some time the proprietor of a filling station at Deer River.
