Ruth and Blair settled at R.D., Ebensburg, Pa. Ruth started teaching elementary school when she was eighteen, and worked in schools in the Carrolltown area. She was the first lay teacher at St. Benedict School in Carrolltown, Pa. She enjoyed square dancing and camping.
