The Swabs settled in Patton, Pa. Doris worked at First National Bank in Patton and then was a kindergarten teacher for many years. She was co-owner of Patton Hardware and also worked at CamTram for five years. Doris was involved in local civic service organizations, such as the Patton Citizen’s Advisory Committee.

Jack was co-owner of Patton Hardware, aka Servicestar, in Patton, Pa., and was later employed by Vista Volunteers, Norcam and Details, Inc., an enterprise that did service work for the Lowe’s home improvement chain. He was also very involved in a host of local civic organizations, such as the Chamber of Commerce, Patton Public Library, Patton Municipal Authority, Cambria Heights Jaycees, the school board for St. Mary’s parochial school, the Patton Fire Company and he coached baseball and softball.
