Notes for Ferdinand J. Huber Sr.
Ferdinand was raised and lived in Munster Township, Cambria County, Pa. In the 1940 Census, he and and his bride-to-be Margaret were living at the home of his brother Ralph in Youngstown, Ohio. It was here that Ann “Mother Augustine” Wharton, RSM, aunt to the Hubers, established the Bryson St. House as a girl’s school.

In 1965, Ferdinand and Margaret relocated to Hollidaysburg, and were custodians of the Catholic Child Care Center there. They later lived in King-of-Prussia and Paxinos, Pa. Ferdinand was a veteran of WWII and later worked as an auto mechanic at Schettig’s Garage and Stager’s Garage in Cresson, Pa. He retired as a caretaker at Mother of Divine Providence Catholic Church in King of Prussia, Pa.
