Henry was an Army veteran of the Korean War, and became President of Pennsylvania Blinded Veterans Association. He was a member of the Pa. State Veterans Conmision and a Certified Veterans Service Officer (VARO). He worked for the Pa. State Bureau of Blindnes and Visual Services in Erie, Pa., and served on numerous civic organizations for the blind.
