Bill served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany, 1957-61. He was a car mechanic by trade and also worked as a foreman engineer in the locomotive division of General Electric, retiring in 2002. Bill lived in Erie, Pa., and settled with Jane in Punta Gorda, Fla.
