Agnes and Thomas lived in Johnstown, Pa., before settling in Houston, Tx. Agnes received nurse training during WWII and subsequently became a Registered Nurse.

Thomas served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, from June of 1944 to February 1946, and was stationed in Okinawa. He was accepted into the armed forces with his twin brother Edward, but their father John was grief-stricken over their departure, refused to work, and died of shock as the sons were preparing to leave for induction. John was a native of Lithuania, and his death certficate indicated that he had a heart attack while walking on a highway, and probably died of coronary thrombosis. Thomas was an electronics salesman for Westinghouse.
