Elizabeth served on the Board of Directors for Goodwill and also was a volunteer for the St. Vincent De Paul Society. She was active as an adult literacy tutor as well. Elizabeth was a faculty member and assistant director at the Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She also taught nursing subjects at Presbyterian University Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa.
