Charles, Jr., “Bud,” died suddenly of unknown causes in a toolhouse at the Johnstown Plant of Bethlehem Steel. He was a sprayer at the Franklin open hearth, and veteran of WWII. The coroner determined that he died of suffocation from an air passage pasage obstruction, due to a fall during an epileptic seizure. He had served as a Private in the Army’s 145th Infantry, Co. M., from March of 1943 to March of 1945.
