Peggy and Frank settled in Virginia Beach, Va. Peggy attended Cambria-Rowe Business College in Johnstown, Pa. During her husband’s miitary service they lived in Fouras, France, and in New Orleans, La. Peggy began her career at American Mutual Benefit Insurance Company in Johnstown, and retired from the Virginia Beach Treasurer’s Office in 1980.

Frank was a U.S. Army Master Sargeant. He volunteered for service at the age of 18 and was assigned to the Third Army in the European Theater. He saw considerable action and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. After WWII he was part of the American occupation in Germany. He briefly returned home to Johnstown, Pa., and was called back to service in 1948. Frank served 27 more years, seeing combat in Korea and Vietnam. Frank received numerous medals during his career in the Army, and retired from service in 1975. He then worked more than 15 years for the Virginia Bach Parks & Recreation Service.
