Frank and Melinda lived in Johnstown, Pa. Frank was listed as a laborer at the time of his marriage to Melinda. and in the 1900 Census, when the family lived on Moore Street. He was a mill hand at the time of his early death of tuberculosis. He worked at the Cambria Steel Co.

Melinda (a.k.a. Malinda) was raised in Carroll Township, Cambria Co., Pa. After Frank Costlow’s death, she raised her six sons in Johnstown and married August Kleinmeyer.
Melinda served on the Democratic Party committee in the Ninth Ward of Johnstown for over thirty years. She was a dressmaker. By 1935, she was living at the home of her son Raymond in Johnstown.
