Richard and Mary Carol lived in Westland and Fremont, Mich. Richard was a judge in the Newaygo County District Court, White Cloud, Mich. He began his legal career as an assistant prosecutor for Muskegon County, 1970-2. He was assistant prosecutor in Newaygo County from 1972-6. He had a private practice in Fremont, Mich., from 1977-8, and then was appointed as the 78th district court judge in 1978, holding the position until retiring in 1995. Richard also served in the Army during the Korean Conflict and in the Coast Guard, Merchant Marines, in the early 1960s. The Coast Guard and Merchant Marine service records were created as a front for his time served as a covert locksmith with Navy Intelligence.
