In His youth, Paul was a miner for the Sterling Coal Co., of Bakerton, Pa. Paul served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and worked as a bricklayer out of Local Union 9. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and growing strawberries He lived in Elmora, Pa.
