Cecile was the third of six children to Frank W. and Linna M. Church, in the 1900 and 1910 Census for Albion, Pa.

In 1918, Otto was a width gauger at the Brier Hill Steel Co. in Girard, Oh. The 1920 Census states that Otto A. Lauer was a steel mill laborer in the township of Girard’s locale, living with his wife and two children. In 1930, Otto is a catcher at the steel mill, while living with his family in Girard. Otto continued to live in Girard until his death.
