In 1926, Marita was living in Miami Fla., and endured an infamous hurricane that devastated the area. It was reported however that she was “optimistic about Miami’s future and has no immediate plans of returning to Altoona.” She did return to Altoona, however. By 1940, she was living with her parents on 16th Ave., and worked as a saleslady at a retail shoe store. She eventually settled at Grosse Pointe, Detroit, Mich.
