Notes for Sylvester Urban Wirtner
Urban Wirtner was raised in Carrolltown, Pa. In 1900, he and his brother Ed were laborers boarding at the home of Mary Tate in Portage Twp., Potter Co., Pa. Urban was an engineer at the time of his marriage in 1910. In the 1910 Census he is listed as a locomotive engineer and one of several boarders with the Charles and Julia Miller family in Wharton Twp., Potter Co., Pa. He was also an engineer with the railroad at the time of his death of pneumonia from influenza.
