Notes for Camilla Mary Farabaugh
The Donoughes settled at R. D., Gallitzin, Pa. Camilla was an avid gardner and was especially skilled with blueberry bushes. She was raised by Sebastian and Mary Farabaugh, but was the daughter of Mary Louise Farabaugh. She was placed in St. John’s Orphanage, Cresson, Pa., for a time. It is believed that she moved to the Sebastian and Mary Farabaugh farm at about the age of 13. Camilla recalled bringing in the cows and tending to livestock. She also once badly cut her knee while using a sickle to cut corn. Camilla walked a long distance to the local schoolhouse, where she once won a penmanship award using the Palmer Method. It is believed that she never met her biological father.
