Bernard and Gertrude settled at R. D. 1, Ebensburg, Pa., in East Carroll Township. In November of 2015, the family’s farm was hit by a tornado that destroyed the old barn and damaged several other structures, but spared the farmhouse (except the chimney) and the beef cattle.
