Kathy died in a car accident. She was a passenger in a 1966 Corvette that lost control around a curve on Route 160 a mile south of Sidman, Pa., at 12:05 AM. The car went onto a berm, jolted, and skid along an embankment before striking a a rock about 4 feet in diameter. The driver, William H. Allison, Jr., was thrown from the vehicle and survived, but Kathy was trapped inside as the fender and hood ripped off, as it flipped and landed on its roof.
