Raymond was a yard foreman for the Pennsylvania Railroad, in Cresson, Pa. He died of scarlet fever from “over work after contracting disease.” All six children also had scarlet fever at the time. Raymond was also director of the Prince Gallitzin school district for a number of years.

In 1940, James was an Army sergeant, stationed at Fort William D. Davis in Panama. He served in the Pacific Theater during WWII and was a warrant officer for the Army, retiring in 1948. He settled at R.D. #2, Tyrone, Pa.
