Lawrence obtained a law degree from Georgetown University in 1934 and relocated to Pittsburgh, Pa., where he was employed in the records department of U.S. Steel. In 1953, he established National Underground Storage Co., which stored records for many Fortune 500 companies and grew to be one of the largest businesses in Butler County. Following retirement, Lawrence remained on its Board of Directors. After Pauline’s death, Lawrence moved to Pennsacola, Fla., to be near family.
