Francis died in a motorcycle accident on a dirt road in Barr Township, Cambria County, Pa., when he collided with a parked coal truck hidden by road dust. He is remembered as a hard-working man who worked on his parents' farm as a youngster and was employed as a welder for Johnstown Welding and Fabrication at the time of his death. Francis was also an avid bow hunter.
