Clark was the owner and operator of Main Street Garage in Carrolltown, Pa. His death was sudden, while seated in a chair at home listening to a radio program. He had suffered with a heart condition for about a year but was about his work as usual in the day of his demise. The cause was listed as coronary thrombosis and artioschlerosis.
