Henry and Elizabeth Sprenger are identified on a manifest dated August 15, 1842, for the Big Ferdinand, a 284 ton vessel that sailed from Bremen to Philadelphia.

Henry was a farmer. In 1850 the family lived in Carrolltown, Pa., and by 1860 moved to Carroll Township. Henry’s obituary described him as an “honest, honorable and upright” citizen.
