Known as Nellie.

Ralph and Nellie lived on a farm near Bird Island in Norfolk Township, but moved to Franklin, Minn., because of Ralph's allergies. He owned a draying business and hauled milk and cream for a local creamery. They eventually moved to California to be near their daughter Kathleen and because Nellie liked California. Nellie became a nurse's aide in a hospital. In 1962, she died in her sleep in Burbank, Ca.
