Notes for Apollonia Ochs
Apollonia departed La Havre, France, on the passenger ship Excelsior of Boston, with her children Franz Ignaz, Theodor, Maria Anna and Leopold. The ship had 178 passengers, stopped in New York City and then landed in Baltimore on June 10, 1846.

Apollonia died of the consumption.
Notes for Anton Josef (Spouse 1)
Anton left La Havre, France, on the vessel Emerald, arriving in New York on March 16, 1840, and continuing to Baltimore. He then lived in the Leesburg area of Loudoun County, Va.

In December of 1845, Anton authorized his wife Apollonia to auction his property in Reichenbach (aka Waldbronn), Germany. The proceeds amounted to 1806 gulden and upon proving to local authorities that all debts were paid, Apollonia was permitted to emigrate to America with her three sons and daughter.

Anton filed a declaration for citizenship in Leesburg on March 9, 1846, and became a U.S. citizen on October 16, 1848. The family cannot be found in the 1850 Census but it is assumed that it relocated to Pennsylvania by 1855, when the marriage of daight Mary Ann to Leonard Farabaugh took place in Carrolltown, Pa. By 1860, the couple had settled as farmers in Carroll Township, Cambria Co., Pa.
