Notes for Mary Lee Swinner
Mary Lee worked as a bank teller at InterFirst Bank of Nassau Bay. She lived in Friendswood, Tx. Mary’s death resulted in a lawsuit brought by the state against her treating hospital for “patient dumping.” It was reported that Mary was suffering from a drug overdose but when admitted to Humana Hospital was moved to a public facility due to lack of insurance. She died in transit. The lawsuit was the first to be brought under the new Hospital Licensing Act at the time.
Notes for Manuel Louis (Spouse 1)
Louis lived in Galveston and La Marque, Tex. His nickname was “Harpo.” He was a union pipefitter in the Amoco welding shop and was a veteran of both WWII and the Korean Conflict. He belonged to different auto clubs, and an image of a vehicle appears on his tombstone. He was also known as Butch.

A two-tone 1956 Mercury Montclair convertible owned by Louis and Shelley won first prize at an antique aute show in La Marque, Tx., in 1987.
