Notes for William Clair Francis Goss
Clair’s WWI registration card indicated he lived in Colver, Pa., and was a machinist for Ebensburg Coal Co. He served in the USN, grade MM2, from 1917-1919.

In 1922, Clair is found in Johnstown, Pa. as a salesman for Flood City Manufacturing Co. Stella Farabaugh is listed as a clerk in the same city. Following their marriage, Clair worked as a meat cutter and then a salesman for Universal Electrical Manufacturing, and they lived on Glennwood Avenue in Ferndale.

In 1930, Clair was a coal miner. He and and Stella were living wih Clair’s parents in Quemahoming Township, Somerset, Pa. Clair and his family were living in Hooversville Pa., in 1935. They were in Boswell, Pa. in 1940 and 1942. He was working for Hillman Coal Co. of Somerset at the time.

He and Stella were living in East Detroit, Mich., at the time of his death.
