Joe was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He attended the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science and was owner of Stevens Funeral Home in Patton and Carrolltown, Pa., for more than 50 years. The business dates back to Joe’s grandfather in 1897. He and Greta lived for 14 years on the West Coast of Florida, but returned to Patton in 2004.
