Lived in Ebensburg, Pa. Joel died in a single vehicle accident. He lost control of his pickup at the curve at the 3600 Block of the New Germany Road, near Holy Name Cemetery in Ebensburg. His truck became airborne, sheared a utility pole and crashed into a house. He was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle. Joel was brought to Johnstown Memorial Hospital, where he died on the operating room table 2 1/2 hours later. His death was caused by massive chest and abdominal injuries. Joel enjoyed hunting, fishing, quad riding, snowmobiling, volleyball and customizing his truck.
