Notes for Augustine Erhart Farabaugh
Census records from 1860-1900 indicate that Augustine was a farm laborer in Allegheny Township, Cambria Co., Pa., in his youth before taking up residence in Carroll Township with the William and Mary Cole family. He later had his own farm in Allegheny County. It was situated near the farms of his brothers, Edward and James.
In 1890, he placed an advertisement in the Cambria Freeman seeking to sell 29 bushels of clover seed.
In 1893, the interest of “A.J. Farabaugh” in properties in Allegheny and Carroll Townships were advertised for a Sheriff Sale.
Augustine also was a driver for a brewery in Carrolltown, Pa. He and Bridget belonged to the parish of St. Michael's Church, Loretto, Pa.
