Notes for Andrew J. Farabaugh
According to Census records from 1870-1900, Andrew was raised in Allegheny Township, Cambria County, Pa. He was a blacksmith who lived in Blacklick Township after his marriage to Zella. In 1888, a newspaper account placed him in the village of Flynn, as “the village blacksmith and best mechanic and horse shoer this side of Jordan.” At the time of marriage in 1891, Andrew was a resident of Glen Campbell, Pa.

In 1905, Andrew and Zella were living at Mitchell's Mills, Indiana County, Pa. They are also found in Clymer from 1906-8. The 1910 Census appears to place them in West Bethlehem, Pa.

After Andrew and Zella had children that died they adopted a daughter, Marion. The birth and death of their daughters Hazel and Betrice are recorded in death certificates, which indicate that they were buried in East Mahoning Cemetery, Purchase Line, Indiana County. Their markers are not yet located there, but the burial of the infant James O. Farabaugh is recorded. His death occured just before death certificates were required in the locality. Since no other Farabaugh family is known to be associated with this cemetery, it is inferred that these are in fact the chidren who preceded the adoption of Marion.

Andrew died of pnemonia in 1913.
Notes for Rosella R. (Spouse 1)
Zella was from the hamlet of Purchase Line, in Indiana County, Pa. In 1880, she appears as 7-year-old “Rosella” Learn in the census for Grant Township, Indiana Co., Pa.

She is listed in the 1920 Census as a widow living alone on Main Street in Glen Campbell, Pa., where she was a cook in her own restaurant. However in the following year she appears in the city directory for Cleveland, Ohio, as Mrs. Rosella Farbough, living at the rear of 8316 Lake Avenue, the same address as her son-in-law Peter Beckett. She remarried, to Roy Kent, and settled at 929 East 146th St., Cleveland.
