In 1940, Kenneth was a steel mill laborer living with the family of his uncle Walter Costlow, on Railroad Street in Johnstown, Pa. He was a WWII Army veteran and then worked in the metalurgical department of Bethlehem Steel Corp. He and Dorothy settled in Geistown.
