Notes for Clyde Norbert Cole
Clyde settled in Altoona, Pa. He was a veteran of 40 months army service and was employed in the Pennsylvania railroad shops at the time of his marriage to Betty in 1946. In 1964, Betty took Clyde to court for desertion and non-support, including support of their hospitalized daught. There were cross-charges of infidelity but the court did not issue an order, noting that Clyde offered no objection to contributing to the care of theri daughter.

Clyde and his daughter Cathy were the victims of a home invasion at Lark Avenue in 2003. Aaron T. Heer cut the phone lines to their residence and then entered the home posing as a repairman, and then used a bucket truck to remove an 800 lb. safe with the family’s savings of $94,000. Heer was sentenced to 11.5 to 23 months in Blair County prison. The family had to endure death threats and Clyde died during the media attention that followed. Clyde was a shipping and receiving clerk for Conrail until 1970, and then operated the golf course at Lakemont. He was a veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict.
