Notes for Reinhard Fehrenbacher
Reinhart immigrated with his father Michael, step-mother Gertrud and siblings on the Collins line vessel, The Pacific, arriving in New York City on 18 Sep 1854. He was raised in Carroll Township, Cambria Co., Pa. In 1864, he sponsored the baptism of his nephew Charles Farabaugh at St. Nicholas Church, Nicktown, Pa.

Reinhart next surfaces on the 1870 Census for Birch Cooley Twp., Renville Co., Minn., as a farmer with the Samuel and Anna Canfield family. On August 15, 1872, Reinhart paid cash for a 40 acre land patent in the NE1/4 of the SE1/4 area in section 30 of that township. Reinhart and Annie remained in Renville County for the five years that followed their marriage in 1871. In 1875, they are listed as inhabitants of Beaver Falls. They then lived in West Newton, Nicollet County, for 5 years. In 1880, Reinhart is listed in the Census as a 36 year old farmer living there, with his 28 year old wife Anna, 5 young children, and a 19 year old farm laborer named Frank Wenzel, born in Bohemia.

The family was then situated in Arlington for 12 years before moving to Bismarck. The family moved to Sibley County in 1883. In 1895, 1900 and 1910, the family is listed in Bismarck Township, Sibley Co., Minn. In the Summer of 1911, a “commodious residence” was established in Stewart, Minn. After Annie’s death in 1913, it is reported that Reinhart continued to live in Stewart but then relocated to Winthrop, Minn. Descendants assumed the surname "Farenbaugh."
Notes for Anna D. (Spouse 1)
Annie immigrated between 1868 and 1870, when she appears in the Census for West Newton, Minn., with her parents and siblings. She came to America with her sister and lived near New Ulm, Minn., until her marriage to Reinhard. Annie “had heart trouble for years and her system was weakened in her younger days, when in her early teens she ‘worked out’ and was forced to cut saw logs in the woods in the winter time. She never recovered from this experience. She was confined to her bed for three months continually prior to her demise and bore intense pain and suffering with true Christian fortitude.” Remarkably, all ten of her surviving children were born on a Friday.
