Dennis and Rita settled at R. D. 1, Loretto, Pa. They started with a $6,000 investment in 1942 that prospered into a picturesque dairy and crop farm. The Farabaughs produced potatoes, corn, oats and hay, and used the remaining pastures to raise their 110-head Holstein herd. Dennis flew a Piper Tri-Pacer airplane on Sundays over their 216 acres and the 240 acres they rent from other area farmers. Dennis’ obituary characterized him as a dairy and potato farmer as well as a substitute letter carrier for the Loretto Post Office.
