Notes for Morgan Philip Sanders
Morgan was a farmer. In 1907, he attended a grand ball at the Cresson theatre on Thanksgiving evening. In 1914, when the Loretto borough council no. 450 was reactivated after several years of dormancy, Morgan was elected treasurer.

He and Biney lived on their farm in Munster Township, Cambria Co., Pa. Although childless, they had occasional boarders such as 9 year old Beatrice Kendig (a foster daughter), the widow Laura Noel and her three adult sons, and a furnaceman named Elliot Yates.

Morgan died of a fractured skull, four days after an auto accident. It was a two car crash in Munster Township at the intersection of Route 22. Morgan was attempting to cross the William Penn Highway from a secondary road leading from Portage to another secondary road leading to Loretto. Robert Taylor, age variously reported as 28 and 48, of Kittanning, was driving west on Rte. 22. He claimed that Morgan stopped at the intersection’s stop sign, but then proceeded in his path. Mr. Taylor then struck the right side of Morgan’s 1918 sedan, throwing him from the car, which rolled 2 1/2 times. Taylor had minor injuries. Morgan required 50 sutures on his head and never regained consciousness after the collision.
Notes for Albina E. (Spouse 1)
"Biney" was a native of Altoona and a former resident of Loretto and of Nanty Glo, Pa.
She lived in the the W.A.B. Little store, later the Goss general store, in Loretto, after her husband’s death in Munster.
It is fitting to end a long history with a centenarian. "Biney" Sanders was past her 101st birthday when the author visited her at Garvey Manor in Hollidaysburg, during the Summer of 1982. Although alert and energetic, Biney unfortunately was not lucid at that age. I was not able to understand her relationship to the Farabaugh families until eight years after that visit, and am gratified to be able to include this woman, who symbolizes the longevity of the entire Farabaugh bloodline.
