In 1920, William is a boarder with Thomas and Bessie Patterson in Portland, Ore., and working as a street car conductor. In 1935, he and Bessie were living in San Diego but by 1940 they were at Pt. Reyes Station, Ca., where William was a pharmacist’s mate for the Navy. William was a Navy chief warrant officer, serving in both WWI and WWII. By 1950, he and Bessie were living in Santa Cruz, Ca.
