Notes for William D. Yeckley
William was a union sprinkler fitter, and much of his life was devoted to the cause of fire protection. He suffered from chronic diabetes, an illness that led to the loss of a leg. “Rommy” was nonetheless active in many civic affairs in the area of Carrolltown, Pa. He enjoyed travel, especially to Las Vegas, and although not a hunter he frequently went to Elk County with friends and served as a cook. His chili was a particular favorite.
