Bert was a lifelong resident of Elk County, Pa. He served in the U.S. Army reserves and was engaged in the construction business after many years as a heavy equipment operator. Bert was a Master at the local Masonic Lodge, a Boy Scout leader, and was both a private airplane pilot and Civil Air Patrol leader.
