Notes for Roslyn M. Smithbower
Roslyn worked as a cook for a period at Mt. Aloysius College in Cresson, Pa., and later as a private family cook in Altoona.
Notes for Vincent Paul (Spouse 1)
In 1930 and 1940, Vincent and Roslyn were farmers in Allegheny Township, Cambria County, Pa., adjacent to the homestead tract of Vincent’s parents, James and Jane Farabaugh. Vince eventually decided against overtaking the family farm and instead worked in the construction industry. He and Roslyn relocated the family to Ebensburg. After the tragic death there of their son Charles in 1947, settlement money from the resulting claim was used to pay down on a home at 931 Sheridan, Pittsburgh, Pa. From there, Vince continued to work in construction until the late 1970s.
