Notes for Adrian William (Spouse 1)
From 1912-1952, Adrian worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad, in Altoona, Pa., beginning in the machine shop and retiring “as a laborer in ACS.”

In 1915, it was reported that Miss Mary Ott made a serious charge against Adrian Cole, which was not specified in the account. It may have resulted in criminal action, for in 1916 Adrian had to post bond in Blair County court. Whatever the outcome, the couple reconciled and applied for a marriage license in 1918.

In 1920, Adrian was a farmer on rented land situated on Monroe Road, Cromwell Township, Huntingdon County, Pa., with his wife Mary and daughter Mary. By 1929, they settled in Altoona, Pa. The 1940 Census places Adrian and Mary in a rented home on Washington Avenue, with no occupation given for Adrian. Mary was working as a house keeper for a paid “home aid project.”
