During WWII, William served domestically in the Army from May of 1942 to April 1945, and overseas from May of 1945 to December of 1945. At the time of his enlistment he was living at the Sunnehanna Country Club in Johnstown, Pa. He later settled in Saint Simons Island, Ga.
