Gerald served in the U.S. Navy Amphibious Force in the Southe Pacific, 1942-46. He was later employed with the Pennsylvania’s Middle Division and the Federal Trade Commission in Washington, D.C. Gerald enjoyed gardening, hunting and bird watching.

Zoe lived in Hyattsville, Md. and Blue Knob, and Portage, Pa. During WWII, she was a student nurse at Philadelphia General Hospital. She served in the U.S. Cadet Nurses Corps and then was a public health nurse in Prince George’s County, Md., the Hollidaysburg State Hospital and the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and quilting.
