Pauline immigrated in 1882 and became naturalized in 1887. Her family was Hungarian. In 1900, Pauline was living with her parents in Derry Township, Westmoreland Co., Pa, and working as a cook.
Notes for Edward Nicholas (Spouse 1)
Edward and his family initially lived in Derry Township, Westmoreland Co., Pa., but by 1910 settled in Akron, Oh., where he worked as a brick layer for building contractors. In 1942, his employer was Bill Howell in Portage Lake, Summit, Co. Although his given middle name was likely Nicholas, he appropriated his father’s name, “Gust,” instead.
