Notes for Margaret Lucille McDade
Margaret was sometimes referred to as “Martha.” There is a strong indication that she was the daughter of a widow, Martha L. McDade, and that she was raised along with 6 siblings in Pittsburgh, Pa., at the home of an Armand and Clara Bunsey. In 1930, she and her two daughters were lodgers at the home of Sally A. Holsten in Pittsburgh. In 1940, she was ironing at a laundry. She and her daughter Eileen were among 6 renters at Brighton Road in Pittsburgh.
Notes for Homer John (Spouse 1)
Homer served in in the Army during WWI from November of 1917 to February of 1918. He is listed in the 1924 Polk Directory for Pittsburgh as a tinner for Twin City Auto Radiator Repair Co.,; as a worker (along with brother Kenneth M. Farabaugh) for General Welding Co. in the 1934 Directory; and an employee with the Fort Pitt Welding Co. in the 1938 Directory.

The 1930 and 1940 Censuses indicate that Homer was a welder and that his family was living in Pittsburgh, Pa. A photograph from this era identifies several men working in Homer’s casting shop in Southside, Pittsburgh.
